New Impulse Winding Tester

DWIT-05PD

The definitive low inductance coil tester!
Clearly displays Waveforms of 10μH Coils

The DWIT series inherits the technology, performance, and reliability of the “DWX series” impulse winding testers and pursues further performance improvement.
The new impulse winding tester features high accuracy, a wide variety of functions, diverse expandability, improved operability, and a full range of external communication interfaces.

Features

  • 12bit resolution x 300MHz sampling High resolution and high speed sampling ADC circuitry enables acquisition of higher resolution waveforms.
Memory of up to 16384 points ensures that waveform disturbances and partial discharge noise are supplemented, and waveforms can be enlarged and displayed after testing.
A cursor allows confirmation of waveform rise time, pulse width, and peak voltage.
  • Visualization of inspection process by database management Master waveform, Determination conditions, Test results( Save the test waveform and the judgment value ) in the built-in database.
You can browse remotely from a computer using SQL client software.
In addition, test results can be searched by pass or fail, by date and time, which is useful for analysis such as NG generation rate.
  • Abundant Additional Options PD (Partial Discharge) detection antenna / 3ch+GND built-in switching circuit / 4-terminal measurement circuit / Additional applied energy / Current measurement, and many other additional functions are available. (*Some functions cannot be installed at the same time.)

Creation of master waveforms by [Averaging / Composite / Test Waveforms

Overview

The impulse winding tester efficiently and nondestructively performs electrical tests on test objects in their wound state.
The principle of the test is to apply an impulse voltage to a reference winding (master coil) and a winding under test (test object), and compare the transient waveforms to determine whether the test is acceptable or not.
The transient waveforms, i.e., the damped vibration waveforms that occur in the coil, are the inductance and Q values, and the number of coil turns, layer shorts, and core material differences can be determined at the same time.
Furthermore, by applying a high impulse voltage, insulation defects can be detected from the occurrence of corona discharge.
In other words, most of the characteristics required for winding quality can be tested in a very short time.

New mode of DWIT-05

Aging Test (Continuous Printing) Mode The DWIT-05 is equipped with a function that allows continuous application of impulse voltage for an arbitrary time or number of times.
This mode is used to evaluate the degradation of samples caused by the continuous application of impulse voltage for a long period of time.
By adding an optional PD sensor, the time (number of times) until discharge occurs can be observed.

Test Result Mode Test result values are stored in the main unit's memory.
In addition, the number of times the test item was judged as OK, NG, or NG is displayed in graphs and numerical values.
In addition, the test screens of the past 1000 impulse tests can be saved and reviewed.

Existing determination items

More detailed measurement with improved resolution, sampling frequency, and number of samples

Break Down Voltage Test

BDV test mode, which automatically boosts the applied voltage to find the breakdown voltage, is included as a standard feature.

New test items added!

Introducing a new indicator of the characteristics of the test object, measurement of actual values

1.Frequency judgment Judgment by resonance frequency
The frequency is calculated from the average of the measured cycles of self-resonant waveforms.
The frequency change is indicated by changes in the impedance and capacitor components of the test object, or by losses.

2.Logarithmic decrement judgment Judgment by logarithmic attenuation rate
The amplitude of the self-resonant waveform is measured, and the logarithmic decrement is calculated from its average.
The waveform attenuation varies depending on the change in inductance and capacitance of the test object or loss.

3.Peak stability judgment Judgment by peak voltage V of resonance waveform
The amplitude strength is measured from the peak voltage value of the self-resonant waveform.
The peak voltage varies due to distortion of the waveform and disturbances caused by discharge, and thus the loss caused in the test object is indicated.
