Overview

The impulse winding tester efficiently and nondestructively performs electrical tests on test objects in their wound state.
The principle of the test is to apply an impulse voltage to a reference winding (master coil) and a winding under test (test object), and compare the transient waveforms to determine whether the test is acceptable or not.
The transient waveforms, i.e., the damped vibration waveforms that occur in the coil, are the inductance and Q values, and the number of coil turns, layer shorts, and core material differences can be determined at the same time.
Furthermore, by applying a high impulse voltage, insulation defects can be detected from the occurrence of corona discharge.
In other words, most of the characteristics required for winding quality can be tested in a very short time.

New mode of DWIT-05

Aging Test (Continuous Printing) Mode The DWIT-05 is equipped with a function that allows continuous application of impulse voltage for an arbitrary time or number of times.
This mode is used to evaluate the degradation of samples caused by the continuous application of impulse voltage for a long period of time.
By adding an optional PD sensor, the time (number of times) until discharge occurs can be observed.

Test Result Mode Test result values are stored in the main unit's memory.
In addition, the number of times the test item was judged as OK, NG, or NG is displayed in graphs and numerical values.
In addition, the test screens of the past 1000 impulse tests can be saved and reviewed.

Introduction of New Indicators Showing the Characteristics of the Test Subject and Measurement of Actual Values

1. Frequency Judgment Judgment Based on Resonance Frequency f
The period of the self-resonance waveform is measured, and the frequency is calculated based on its average.
Changes in the impedance and capacitance components of the test subject, as well as losses, appear as changes in frequency.

2. Logarithmic Decrement Judgment Judgment Based on Logarithmic Decrement σ
The amplitude of the self-resonance waveform is measured, and the logarithmic decrement is calculated based on its average.
Changes in the inductance and capacitance components of the test subject, as well as losses, appear as changes in waveform attenuation.

3. VPeak Stability Judgment Judgment Based on the Peak Voltage V of the Resonance Waveform
The amplitude strength is measured based on the peak voltage value of the self-resonance waveform.
Since the peak voltage varies due to waveform distortion and disturbances caused by discharge, losses occurring in the test subject are reflected.

4. Qdmp Judgment Judgment Based on Area Comparison at the Same Resonance Period
Based on the master waveform, the period within the specified range is calculated. The areas of the master and test waveforms over the same period interval are then compared to determine pass or fail. A key feature of this method is that it enables comparison of the magnitude of the coil’s resonance waveform even when there is a shift along the time axis (left or right).

About the “3ch + GND Switching Circuit” Option

Fully Automated Testing of All Phases up to 3-Phase + GND with a Single Connection!
Eliminate the need to reconnect the conventional two alligator clips for each phase-to-phase measurement (U-V / V-W / W-U) and ground measurement (e.g., U-VWE). Even with a three-phase coil using three lead wires, the internal relays automatically switch the circuit after just one initial connection. Impulse testing and insulation evaluation—from phase-to-phase and phase-to-GND—can all be completed in one operation.

・Significantly reduces takt time by eliminating reconnection

・Minimizes the risk of connection errors and poor contact

・Contributes to the full automation and labor savings of the inspection process
